Vinous Neal Martin - 01 Jan 20
The 2018 Morey-Saint-Denis Très Girard, containing 20–30% whole bunch, has a soft and gentle bouquet of black currant, red plum and crushed stone aromas that needs a little coaxing from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins and a wonderful bead of acidity, making this Morey one of the most elegant village crus I have encountered. This comes recommended.

Morey-Saint-Denis

Morey-Saint-Denis, a prestigious appellation in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits, is known for its elegant, well-structured Pinot Noir wines that balance the power of Gevrey-Chambertin and the finesse of Chambolle-Musigny. These wines feature flavours of red and black fruits, earthy spices, and floral notes, with refined tannins and excellent ageing potential. Home to five Grand Cru vineyards, including Clos de Tart and Clos Saint-Denis, top producers like Domaine Dujac, Domaine Ponsot, and Domaine des Lambrays are celebrated for their traditional winemaking and expressive wines.
